The name Kingston means Royal Manor being derived from Cyninges Tun or Cingestune and has had connections with royalty since Anglo-Saxon times when Kings were coronated there. The history of the borough can be traced back to thousands of years which is shown by the Coronation Stone that stands outside the Guildhall aswell as Clattern Bridge that dates from the 12th Century and is the oldest surviving bridge in London. The town is a diverse mixture of old and new with attractions such as Richmond Park, Chessington World of Adventures, The Bentall Store, The Rotunda Centre, Kingston Bridge, Kingston Parish Church-All Saints, Market House and Kingston Museum.
